  Prebooked a car for 8 weeks at fixed price of $ 2900. After 4 weeks they tried to put thru multiple card debits of $5500 and said 'rates have changed'.Gave the car back next day and only paid them agreed amount, despite them trying again to put thru multiple higher debits. Total crooks..... Do not touch with a barge pole !!!!!

  Always opened until last flight so if your delayed Avis Rep will be able to most times sort out a rental car if required

  Conveniently located at Mackay Airport. My go to for car hire in Mackay. Clean well maintained cars. Exceptional service as on one of my many trips to Mackay I unfortunately suffered an injury in which I was unable to drive my hire vehicle back to the airport. I contacted the Mackay AVIS team and they arranged for my hire car to be collected from the hospital and returned to their base. Highly recommend AVIS Mackay for all your car hire needs.

  Booked a car for travel through phone 2 weeks in advance due to Easter holidays rush. Never told anything about the bills they wanted showing local address required for having a local address on driver's license. The office at airport blames online reservation team and reservation team blames office staff. The reservation team was never informed about any additional requirements. Ended up cancelling my business trip / site visit due to the unprofessional service by AVIS , Mackay airport. May be they wanted to have my booking cancelled (due to corporate discounts being applied) and have my car given to some one else so they get more money. Anyway POOR service from AVIS.

  One staff member on.
  
  Eight people in line.
  
  Has taken 42mins to serve two people.
  
  The staff member is calling for card authorisation for customers and reading out their credit card numbers, expiry dates, CVV numbers and card holder's name aloud over the phone.
  
  Absolutely pitiful !!!
  
  Will never use again.
  
  DISGUSTING!!!
  
  Being served after 78mins wait time.
